The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited has announced that, from 23 September 2024, on any days (from Monday to Friday except a Hong Kong public holiday) on which severe weather conditions persist (i.e. Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above is hoisted, or Black Rainstorm Warning is issued by the Hong Kong Observatory, or a situation of “Extreme Conditions” is announced by the Hong Kong SAR Government), trading, clearing and settlement services and operations will continue in both the securities and derivatives markets in Hong Kong (“SWT Day”) and the SEHK will maintain normal operations to the furthest extent possible (the “SWT Arrangements”).  

In view of the implementation of the SWT Arrangements, please refer to the respective Notice/Announcement of the funds listed below for details of the trading arrangements on a SWT Day.

The eMPF Platform has officially commenced operation today (26 June 2024), with the aim of keeping pace with the digital era and paving the way for future reform initiatives of the MPF system. For MPF schemes in the market, information will be migrated from trustees’ systems to the eMPF Platform by phases in ascending order based on the value of MPF assets managed by the relevant scheme’s trustee. The Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority (“MPFA”) aims for all MPF schemes to be fully onboarded on the platform by the end of 2025 at the earliest.

 

The MPF scheme managed by BOCI-Prudential Asset Management Limited (“BOCI-Prudential Asset Management” or “our Company”) as the investment manager is expected to join the eMPF Platform in the first or second quarter of 2025. Regarding the latest schedule for MPF schemes onboarding the eMPF Platform, you can visit the relevant website at https://www.empf.org.hk/latestNews/news/empf_onboarding_schedule?parent=/latestNews/whatsNew.

 

BOCI-Prudential Asset Management will collaborate with BOCI-Prudential Trustee Limited (the “Trustee”) to maintain close communication with clients, and will organize seminars in due course to facilitate MPF scheme employers and members in making a seamless migration to the eMPF Platform. Please closely follow our Company’s webpage^ and FACEBOOK page^ for the latest information. A notice will tentatively be issued by the Trustee to employers and members of the relevant MPF scheme by the end of 2024/early 2025, you may register with the eMPF Platform starting from the date specified in the notice to facilitate a smooth transition to the eMPF Platform in the near future.

The Trustee encourages clients to make the MPF contributions and enquiries through digital channels to minimize social contact. Due to the special work arrangements, the processing of various enquiries, applications and contributions may be delayed and it may take longer time for the Trustee to provide a reply. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

With the recent outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic, BOCI-Prudential Trustee Limited (the “Trustee”) implemented special work arrangement, and the processing of various enquiries, applications, changes, contribution and hotline service may be delayed and it may take a longer time for the Trustee to provide a reply. We apologize for any inconvenience it may cause.

With effect from 20 July 2020, the office hours of the Trustee’s hotline service is 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday to Friday. Members can still login the Trustee’s website, mobile APP or interactive voice response system after such hotline operating hours for account details.

Mandatory contributions for the contribution period July 2020 shall be due on 10 August 2020 (Monday).

Bank of China (Hong Kong) announced that services of certain branches will be temporarily suspended until further notice, and the submission of MPF documents by designated branches may be affected. Customers may visit the relevant websites to obtain the latest information. The Trustee encourages employers to make the MPF payment by direct bank-in/auto-pay at Bank of China (Hong Kong), Nanyang Commercial Bank or Chiyu Banking Corporation designated branches, or via the Bank of China (Hong Kong) cheque deposit machine, and submit the remittance statement and/or other MPF documents through the electronic channels.

In addition, Hongkong Post has also adopted special postal arrangements. As a result, services of local and inbound mail will be subject to delay. For employers who submit remittance statement and/or cheque by mail, please allow sufficient time for the remittance statement and/or cheque to reach the Trustee on or before the contribution deadline.

The Trustee will keep in view the situation in relation to COVID-19 pandemic to adjust the corresponding arrangements.
